King & Scribes at Winchester Cathedral

Designed by Metaphor and spanning three floors, the installation features included; glass wall graphics, showcases, models, high quality display furniture, and both mechanical and audio visual interactive exhibits.

The South Transept of Winchester Cathedral has recently undergone a major facelift, as with buildings of this nature, the renovation was to an exceptionally high-standard. It was therefore, especially important that we upheld these standards in the making and installation of the exhibition.  Using our skilled craftsmen and high-quality premium oak Scena achieved the level of finish demanded by Metaphor Design and the Cathedral.

Scena was commissioned to produce all setworks and joinery and also contracted to supply lighting, audio visual hardware, showcases, interactive exhibits, specialist glass work and graphics. We coordinated all elements to the programme and budget required. With the Cathedral fully operational throughout the installation period, we worked alongside the client's project management to ensure the installation programme worked within the Cathedral's busy schedule, including Christmas and Easter services.
